Spray Foam for Shops and Commercial Buildings

Large shops and commercial buildings often have wide wall and roof areas that make temperature control difficult.
Air leakage can contribute to uncomfortable temperature swings and increased heating and cooling demand. Open-cell spray foam helps seal these areas while adding insulation.
For some projects, PCR, LLC may recommend a combination of open-cell and closed-cell foam based on the needs of different parts of the building.

An Open-Cell Spray Foam Project From PCR, LLC

PCR, LLC completed a spray foam project for Megan Archer involving two shop buildings.
The project included 8 inches of open-cell spray foam along the roofline and 2 inches of closed-cell spray foam on the walls.
Using both foam types allowed the insulation approach to match the needs of different areas of the buildings.

Open-Cell vs. Closed-Cell Spray Foam

Open-cell foam is softer and more flexible and can be a strong choice for air sealing, sound absorption, and certain roofline applications.
Closed-cell foam is denser and more rigid and can provide greater moisture resistance and thermal performance.
